A roswelli incidens egy 1947 nyarán bekövetkezett állítólagos UFO baleset, amely az Amerikai Egyesült Államokban, az Új-Mexikó államban található Roswell környékén történt. A szemtanúk szerint egy repülő csészealj zuhant le. Vannak olyan "szemtanúk" is, akik állítják látták az jármű utasainak holttesteit. Mindenesetre a helyszínt ezután napokra lezárták, és több fekete zsákot szállítottak a közeli katonai bázis egyik hangárjába. A hivatalos amerikai szervek közölték, hogy egy időjárási szonda (meteorológiai ballon) zuhant le. Persze nem biztos, hogy ez az igazság, a hidegháború hajnalán történt az eset, lehetett bármilyen félresikerült fegyverkísérlet...
A játékban egy névtelen magánnyomozót alakíthatsz, aki 1973. augusztus 17. estéjét az irodájában tölti, amikor is egy csomag érkezik. Feladó nincs feltüntetve rajta, csak egy levél és egy doboz dokumntációkkal, jelentésekkel. A levélben ez áll: "Kedves Nyomozó! Tudom, hogy kíváncsi, ki vagyok, de ez pillanatnyilag nem fontos... Ami számít, az a küldetésem! A levéllel együtt, a csomagban információkat adok a rejtélyekkel teli 51-es Körzetről. Azzal bízom meg, hogy tárja fel az igazságot a roswelli incidensről. Az igazság talán meg fogja döbbenteni. Az értékes nyomozásért cserébe egy újabb nagylelkű pénzösszeg vár Önre az út végén. Legyen tudatában annak, hogy nem lesz könnyű dolga, számtalan akadályba fog ütközni az igazság keresése közben. Az 51-es Körzetben olyan veszélyekkel kell szembenéznie, amelyeket el sem tud képzelni. A világnak válaszokra van szüksége! Kész felfedni a titkon őrzött igazságot"
Úgy döntesz, elfogadod a megbízást, másnap este már meg is érkezel a roswelli Penrose motelbe...
A program a szöveges kalandjátékok egy ritkább változata, nem parancsokat kell begépelni, hanem (a korabeli Lapozgatós könyvekhez hasonlatosan) a program által felajánlott cselekvések közül választhatsz, mit szeretnél tenni. Ez persze erősen behatárolja a lehetőségeket, cserébe részletes - esetenként szépen kidolgozott képekkel illusztrált - leírást olvashatsz minden eseményről. A külön betölthető 128k-s verzió pedig zenét és plusz grafikát is tartalmaz. A program kezelése:

  • Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I, O, P, 9: lépkedés felfelé a lehetőségek között,
  • A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K., L, 8: lépkedés lefelé a lehetőségek között,
  • SPACE, ENTER, 0: kiválasztás, továbblépés.

  11. You get up from the chair.
  12. Return to your motel room.
  13. Turn on the television.
  14. Turn off the television.
  15. Head to the lobby.
  16. Head out for a drive on the road.
  17. Pull over at the pawn shop.
  18. Return to the road.
  19. Continue on to the Area 51 entrance.
  20. Infiltrate the maintenance tunnel.
  21. Access the biological agent containment area.
  22. Take the confidential documents.
  23. Return to the biological agent containment area.
  24. Return to the maintenance tunnel.
  25. Return to the base entrance.
  26. Return to the main road.
  27. Return to the motel.
  28. Speak with the mysterious woman.
  29. You get up from the chair.
  30. Head out for a drive on the road.
  31. Pull over at the pawn shop.
  32. Take the access card and leave.
  33. Continue on to the Area 51 entrance.
  34. Approach the security checkpoint.

  36. Return to the base access point.

  38. Examine the cryogenic chamber.
  39. Review the dossier.
  40. Close the dossier.
